Chris Martin stated that the band would be “disappointed if it [their next tour] was not carbon neutral.”

He opened up to the BBC recently to declare that the British band would not be touring with their latest album unless they could figure out how to make a tour environmentally friendly.

Coldplay’s last tour spanned over two years between September 2015 to November 2017, and was
made up of 122 concerts attended by over 5 million people across the world.

The band hope that by setting an example, other artists may follow suit, and the experience of touring
can become a lot more positive and even beneficial to the environment.
