An opera house in Barcelona has reopened its doors following the COVID-19 lockdown by putting on a concert for 2,292 plants.

The Liceu, one of the biggest opera venues across the globe, also streamed their ‘Concert for Biocene’ as a symbolic act to return nature stolen places, after the Spanish emergency orders were lifted.  The concert included a string quartet performance of Giacomo Puccini’s “Chrysanthemum”.

The plants were donated by local nurseries and will be gifted to front line workers from the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona.
