UK Hottest August Day for 17 Years

The UK experienced it’s hottest August day on record for 17 years on Friday 7th, with temperatures reaching 36.4°C at Heathrow.

The Met Office confirmed that this was the hottest August day since 2003, with scientists concluding that this is not surprising given that climate change is rapidly advancing.  In July, the UK recorded its third hottest day on record at 37.8°C.
