As of the 6th of October, Homebase has introduced new ‘green aisles’ in stores across the UK, showcasing eco-friendly products and providing quality information to customers looking to reduce their carbon footprint. The store has brought the outdoors in by decorating aisles with various plants and foliage while displaying energy efficient and eco-friendly home improvement products.
The new green initiative came after a poll commissioned by Smart Energy GB found that 74% of Brits want to make their homes more environmentally friendly but most don’t know how. In addition, 71% want to save money by going greener. Homebase are encouraging customers to purchase more energy-efficient products to heat their homes as we enter into the winter season. Employees will also be available throughout their stores to offer expert advice to customers regarding energy efficiency in the home.
The trading director of Homebase, Chris O’Boyle, has said “‘The Green Aisle’ not only puts some of our most sustainable and eco-friendly products all in one place for those who know what they’re looking for, but will also provide advice and inspiration, supported by our expert teams, for people who need a hand turning their green ambitions into reality.”
