Volvo will ensure their cars sales are fully electric by 2030, with an aim for 50% of their global trade to consist of fully electric cars by 2025, the vehicle giant has announced.
In a statement published on their online Global Newsroom, they said: “Volvo Cars is committed to becoming a leader in the fast-growing premium electric car market and plans to become a fully electric car company by 2030.”
The company went on to say they intend to ‘only sell fully electric cars’ whilst ‘phasing out any car in its global portfolio with an internal combustion engine.’
Volvo globally launched its first fully electric car, the XC40 Recharge, last year and plans to roll out ‘several’ new electric models as part of accelerating their climate plan to reduce the use of fossil fuels and grow their models with technology.
