Mike Cannon-Brooks has made a bit on three Australian coal plants with the view to replacing them with renewable energy sources.

One of Australia’s most wealthy business moguls has placed a bid to purchase three of Australia’s sixteen coal plants, and if successful, plans to transform them into renewable energy sources instead.

Mike Cannon-Brooks, owner and founder of Atlassian, is well known for speaking out about his country’s lack of action in transforming to a green economy.

Last year, he pledged $350 million in personal funds to finance non-profits fighting climate change and invest in projects promoting clean energy.

An initial bid was unsuccessful, with Prime Minister Scott Morrison concerned that the plans would cause an increase in energy prices.
