The United Nations Summit on Biodiversity will run in New York at the level of Heads of State and Government by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). This event is for all UN member states and will include presentations and discussions centred around the theme of ‘Urgent Action on Biodiversity for Sustainable Development’, addressing solutions to climate related issues and presenting a post-2020 global biodiversity framework. The agenda also includes discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), economic sustainability, international security and peace, humanitarian relief, and international law and justice.
