This is an annual 3-day event hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with the Coordinating Body on the Seas of East Asia (COBSEA) and the SEA circular project. There will be a range of presentations, talks, break-out sessions and exhibitions looking at the issue of plastic pollution.
With the overarching theme ‘Wasting less plastic and keeping it out of the ocean – Has the needle moved?’, industry experts and professionals will address the increase in marine litter and plastic pollution as a result of COVID-19. The key objectives of this event are reducing the demand for single-use plastics, transforming the collection, transportation and disposal of plastics and increasing national and local action to accelerate sustainability in the sector. Discussions will also be centred around the benefits of a circular economy system and demanding the reuse and recycling of plastics.
