The United Nations (UN) Food System Summit, led by the UN Secretary General, will address the issues of, and innovative solutions to, current global food systems. The summit will detail the collective advantages of a food systems approach to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in mitigating the risks of climate change. The summit will also address the issues of inequality, human health, greenhouse gas emissions, waste, biodiversity and global warming and explain why transformation of the ways in which we produce and consume food is necessary in fighting climate change.
