‘Planetary’ is the trading name of Planetary International Limited, registered in England and Wales, No: 11671522, registered office Brightwell Grange, Britwell Road, Burnham, Berkshire, England, SL1 8DF.  You can also contact Planetary International by emailing: info@planetaryinternational.com.

If you do not accept these Terms please do not access or use this website. If you use the website (including downloading materials, following links, submitting information or streaming via the site) you will be bound by these Terms, whether or not you have made any submissions to us, and they will form a contract with Planetary International.

These Terms apply to the entire contents of the Planetary International website, to any downloaded content and to any correspondence by e-mail or post between us. The Privacy and Data Policy, Cookie Notice and ‘Standards of Submission’ guidelines’ also form part of these Terms and Conditions (together referred to as ‘Terms’) and should be read before proceeding.

Changes

  • We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time, in which case the amended Terms will be posted on the website in place of this and will apply from the date we post them. Please check these Terms on each occasion you use the website. If you continue to use the website you will be bound by the latest Terms.
  • The content included on the website changes constantly and perpetually. You should refresh your browser each time you visit the website to ensure that you access the most up to date version.

Accessing the Planetary Website

  • Before accessing the Planetary International site, you should obtain permission to do so from the bill payer of your broadband/internet/WiFi provider.
  • We reserve the right in our sole discretion to deny any user access to the website or any part of it without prior notice.
  • Certain parts of the site will be accessible via registration only.  During sign up, registrations will be asked if they want to opt into relevant marketing opportunities, namely: 1) targeted jobs based on interests selected, 2) educational opportunities based on level selected 3) relevant competitions based on age bracket selected. Targeted marketing will only be issued where this box is ticked during registration.
  • ‘Opportunities’ and targeted marketing does not include our generalised Planetary newsletter, which will provide environmental news and updates. Registrations will automatically opt into receiving our newsletter by agreeing to our Terms of Use during registration, but may unsubscribe at any time by contacting info@planetaryinternational.com or via the Mailchimp button embedded in the circular.

Using the Planetary Site

  • You agree to only use the website in a manner that complies with all applicable laws and regulations and is consistent with the Terms and does not infringe the rights of anyone else, nor restrict or inhibit their use and enjoyment of the website (including, without limitation, by hacking).

Contributions

  • All content posted or submitted by users of the website, including but not limited to, stories, articles, opinions, news, feature templates, images, videos, solutions, items under ‘Discover’ and emails (‘submissions’ or ‘contributions’) must comply with the guidelines set out below. Please read these rules carefully before registering as a contributor or submitting any material to this website. If you register as a contributor the Contribution Rules will form part of the contract between you and us.
  • Whilst Planetary International will vet all submissions before publishing, we are not ultimately responsible for contributions posted to our websites. These submissions or contributions express the views of the author, not the views of Planetary International or their staff members.
  • Planetary International does not take responsibility for the accuracy of third party listings made by Schools, Universities, Colleges, Organisations or any other Business for inclusion within the ‘Discover’ tab.
  • If you have a complaint about any content on this website please contact us immediately by email to info@planetaryinternational.com To consider your complaint we need your name, company/organisation/school name if relevant, contact details (both a land address, telephone number and email), details of the exact content complained of and details of why you are complaining about that content. Please note that no action can be taken without this information.
  • You must not post or transmit to this website any material:

    • that is defamatory, illegal, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, liable to incite racial hatred, blasphemous, discriminatory, pornographic, sexually oriented, threatening or invasive of a person’s privacy

  • We shall be entitled to reveal your identity (or any information which we have about you) if appropriate and in accordance with data protection legislation.
  • You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Planetary International and our directors, officers and employees, from and against all liabilities, claims, demands and expenses arising out of any of your contributions which breach these Terms.
  • Any contributions you submit for use by and throughout this website shall be considered non-confidential. By making a submission to the website you agree that you:
    • are fully entitled to do so;
    • grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual, non-terminable, worldwide and royalty-free licence to copy, modify, distribute, show in public and create derivative works from that material in any form and anywhere for all commercial or non-commercial purposes related to our work; and
    • authorise us to adapt the relevant material in the course of doing so and so waive all moral rights you have in your submission to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Planetary Privacy

We take your privacy very seriously and will treat all of your personal information in accordance with all applicable data protection laws in England and Wales. Please read our Privacy and Data Policy in conjunction with this document.

Intellectual Property

  • You acknowledge that all copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights in the website and all photographs, designs, images, text, software, data, audio, video, files and other material in the website or material generated by or transmitted from the website (“Planetary Material”) are owned by us or as resourced from organisations for educational purposes in our credit sections. You are permitted to use the website and content only as expressly authorised by us.
  • Planetary International share Materials created by third parties within our free, accessible website pages for educational purposes, in accordance and with regard for third party express licenses and Terms of Use:
  1. Planetarypedia relies on a Creative Commons License, and will include only such articles shareable under this license or submitted with express permission by the original author.
  2. YouTube Videos are embedded to support our free and accessible Learn materials and News where appropriate in accordance with YouTube ‘Fair Use Terms’.
  • Provided you use the website and materials in accordance with these Terms you are permitted to print and download Learning content or information from Planetarypedia for your personal, non-commercial use and for private study or teaching purposes, provided in each case that:
    • You do so with the intention of spreading the positive environmental messages of Planetary International and any other organisations referred to throughout the website;
    • copyright and source indications are also printed and copied and/or stored in association with the content;
    • no modifications are made to the content or resources and are not used as part of any other publication or derivative work; and
    • any content is retained, printed and/or copied entirely and is not used in a derogatory or misleading context and in particular may not be used for the purpose of promoting, advertising, endorsing or implying a connection with you (or any third party) and Planetary International.
  • The rights above are not transferable and no other use of material, learning resources or content may be made without first obtaining our written permission. In particular, you must not do the following unless you have first obtained our written permission:
    • incorporate any content or material in any other work, broadcast or publication, whether in hard copy or electronic form, for use on a similar competitor website; or
    • make any commercial use by publishing any content from the Planetary International website; or
    • broadcast, publish, post, share or make available to the public any content of material, unless to teach, educate, or spread the positive message and core values of Planetary International or referred to organisations.
  • Submissions from contributors on our News, Organisations, Planetarypedia, Educators, Solutions sections or Homepage in the form of photographic, text, graphic images, audio and video material within any products or publications supplied to you are copyright works and none of them may be copied, reproduced, licensed, broadcast, transmitted or otherwise exploited. Photographs included on our Learning pages are copyright free and can therefore be saved, copied and distributed, and videos included on our Learning content are embedded via YouTube. However, all textual content, including the formatting and learning delivery mechanism is considered copyright works and therefore may not be copied, reproduced, licensed, broadcast, transmitted or otherwise exploited.
  • The Planetary International logo is trademarked to Planetary International Limited. Other logos and names used on the website may also be the trademarks of Planetary or their respective owners. No permission is given by us in respect of the use of any such trademarks, names or logos.
  • Whilst we encourage our supporters to campaign on the issues referred to on the Planetary International website, please do not imply that you are taking action on behalf of us and in particular do not state that Planetary International is taking, or proposes or is considering taking, action against individuals or organisations, for example, a boycott of a company’s products. Planetary International seeks to work in conjunction with existing environmental organisations and charities and to support their work and missions.
  • We may terminate your right to use or receive materials at any time at our complete discretion.

  • The Planetary logo is a registered trademark of Planetary International Limited.
  • Images used to support articles for News, Learning Resources and Solutions are included with regard to and in accordance with copyright free image sharing sites and their terms of use, namely:

  • Planetary International supports and endorses the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainability, “SDGs”, and as such our content includes reference to, both contextually and visually, graphics, logos, and themes. The use of the SDG Logos, including the colour wheel and individual goal icons, by Planetary International does not imply the endorsement of the United Nations of Planetary International, its products or services, or of its planned activities. Planetary International refers to such material in accordance with the SDG Logo Use Guidelines.
  • Planetary International, where necessary, will seek to make contact with any individual featured on the website for inclusion of images pertaining to display them or their activity. However, should contact fail, Planetary International will use only such images that are already shared by the individual within the public domain, and will credit such images accordingly.  Should you wish to remove such an image, please contact us in line with our Infringement Notice below.

Complaints & Infringement Notice

  • If you have a complaint about any content on this website please contact us immediately by email to info@planetaryinternational.com To consider your complaint we need your name, company/organisation/school name if relevant, contact details (both a land address, telephone number and email), details of the exact content complained of and details of why you are complaining about that content. Please note that no action can be taken without this information.
  • Planetary International will respond to such complaints and infringement requests within 14 working days of receipt of lodged email, requesting further detail if necessary or confirming resolution for agreement.  If agreement cannot be reached, the request will be escalated to our management team or CEO for direct contact.
  • Planetary International is happy to remove infringing content, such as that obtained via social media platforms, promptly upon reception of a cease and desist letter.

Advertisers and Sponsors

  • We may allow companies to advertise goods and services on the Planetary International website. While we will not knowingly run an advert that is untrue, or which relates to goods or services contrary to our mission, objectives and core values, the appearance of an advert does not mean that we endorse the advertiser’s goods or services. We are not responsible for the accuracy of any advertising material or for any advertised product or service.
  • All advertised or sponsored content included on the Planetary International website, within communications or across our social media platforms will be clearly marked.

Disclaimers

  • The information provided in our websites is intended to provide general information only and, as such, should not be considered as a substitute for advice covering any specific situation. Whilst we check credibility and enjoy involvement of a range of experts in the fields of environment and ecology, Planetary International are ultimately not responsible for the accuracy, completeness or truth of third party contributory submissions to the websites.   • Planetary International is not responsible for the organisation or promotion of events included on the ‘Event’s page, nor do we endorse their subsequent activity or attendance.
  • We do not warrant that the functions contained in the website will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that the website or the server that makes it available is free of viruses or bugs or represents full functionality, accuracy or reliability of the materials.

Planetary Liability

  • We do not limit in any way our liability by law for fraud or death or personal injury caused by our negligence or breach of statutory duty or any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Severance

Assignment

We retain permission to assign, transfer and subcontract the rights, interests or obligations of Planetary International, in written agreement and with prior consent of all parties. Subject to the preceding sentence, this Agreement will then be binding upon, inure to the benefit of and be enforceable by the parties and their respective successors and assigns.

Waiver

If you breach these Terms and we take no action, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies at a later date or in any other situation where you breach these Terms.

Events Beyond our Control

We will not be liable to you for any delay in delivering any services or order or breach of our obligations, if the delay or breach is due to acts of God, civil commotion, riots, malicious damage, floods, drought, fire, legislation, failure of ISP or telecommunications provider or other cause beyond our reasonable control. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Law, Courts and Language

These Terms, use of our websites and the supply of products and services by us are governed by and to be interpreted in accordance with English law. In the event of any dispute arising in relation to these Terms, use of our websites or in relation to the supply of any products or services by us the English courts will have jurisdiction over the dispute. These Terms and this website are provided in the English language only.
